The community enjoys festivities that celebrate the Meso-American holiday dedicated to remembering and commemorating ancestors; honoring both death and the cycle of life. This vibrant celebration of Dia de Los Muertos features live entertainment, a variety of food, craft vendors, and a special community altar exhibit.
This annual program takes place once a month starting in October and ending in March. The lecture series features a local speaker, author, or professor with knowledge of topics of local history/culture. The program is free and open to the public. The Annual Mission Quilt show has been taking place for over 15 years. The Mission Quilt Show is open to the public for participants to enter their works of art. The quilt show exhibit features all quilts submitted and is followed by a turning of the quilts program in which award winners are also announced.
Every Wednesday in July, the Mission Historical Museum welcomes local families to our Summer Craft Days, where children and parents alike were invited to engage in hands-on, history-themed crafts celebrating our community's rich heritage.
